Cardigan Declared "Weird"

Okay, I think it's kind of cute, myself. I'm sad I got a wavy hem for some reason, and I didn't hem the sleeves because I just think I'm done with it.
Lucas, my usually supportive and always brown-nosing child, looked it up and down and said, "Seriously?" I said, "What do you think of it?" He said it was "weird."
I asked Drew what he thought of it (keep in mind they were not in earshot of each other and had not conferred beforehand). He felt the sleeve fabric and said, "It's weird."
Dean, being a grown-up with an advanced degree, declared that I looked like a present. Apparently he objects to the bow. He asked if buttons were in the future plans.
I did mortify them by wearing it out to eat (no, seriously, there was not even any talk of paper bags for their heads - they were very supportive), where the bow got in my way and was in constant danger of becoming untied. I realize this is not practical for work, but I certainly would use the pattern again and button the front like other PR'ers have done.

So what do you honestly think? I've already had 3 votes for weird and 2 for "bathrobe" (yes, Mother and Jim, I'm recording your votes too - thanks for being honest), and I don't really plan to wear it anywhere else, so you don't have to sugarcoat it.

I love the silhouette on you! A very flattering shape. You could always ditch the bow part of the ribbon and add a button band with brown buttons. The colour is gorgeous and I love that ribbon.

I agree with above, the silhouette is great but I'm not mad keen on the ribbon tied in a bow. Turning it into a small tab and button would be good :)

I beg your pardon, I didn't say it looked like a bathrobe....that was Jim. I really like it but do agree that I'd do a button closure instead of the bow. I think it looks great...I'd certainly wear it. What do guys know anyway?

Well thank you all for the love! I will chop that bow off and create a button closure as recommended. I like my ribbon, too, and may have to add it to something else, since it was sold by the spool!

I like the ribbon, but no to the bow. I think you'll like it a lot better with a button. Look on line for an unusual one.

I'm on the prowl for a good button, Robbie, and I'll add a buttonhole and lose the bow. Then, back to the Silhouette top, perhaps! Did you finish your jeans?

Finished them yesterday. Washing and drying 2X and then I'll hem them.

Be sure and do a couple of practice buttonholes. You may need to stabilize the slinky above and below. Try using Press and Seal from the kitchen.

Well, I'm thinking of doing the buttonhole on an extension of the ribbon so the slinky won't overlap. I don't know if that'll work or not...and I have no idea what Press and Seal is - would that be found in a grocery store?
