Getting Ready for Something New

Hello there, stranger! Time for a quick update - first up is that Cat and Kitten 3D puzzle I promised in the last post. My sister and nephew did this one - very nice! I'm working on a pirate ship, but it's slow going, so that'll be awhile. (No, you haven't stumbled onto a senior citizen's blog by accident - it's still Dr. Fun here.)

A couple of weeks ago I had to go to Anaheim, CA, for a work meeting - Pam, I thought about you, but I didn't have any free time to leave the hotel for fun. Now one new development is that I'm doing a month of Nutrisystem to see if I can slow the middle-aged gut from taking over my body, and I'm very proud to have stuck with it during the meeting (and to have lost 9 pounds so far!). I trekked the 10 minutes across the hotel property to use the one microwave to heat my low-calorie pizza every night (1/3 of my suitcase was Nutrisystem food), plus I got my 4 servings of veggies every day from room service. And no, the wine is not endorsed by Nutrisystem, but it IS by the American Heart Association!

Here's a beautiful California sunset from my room. I'm seeing a family vacation here - this place is just gorgeous...as far as I could tell from the plane on takeoff and landing.

And speaking of airports, John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana is THE airport, people! Look at this wine bar, and there was a spa right next to it. Not your typical airport magazine joint and snack shop. We'll be back!

So the "something new" is called Stitch Fix, and I learned about it from my sewing buddy and fellow blogger, Susie Homemaker, MD. I checked out her blog and decided to jump in there myself, so my shipment arrives Wednesday. Till then.....

That is fantastic! Next time please contact me -- I agree those events can be so time consuming! Glad you like Pasadena (but next time you have to go to Mood).

I haven't been posting because I've had a death in the family. But, I plan to get back on the bandwagon, stat. I've been ordered to sew and knit by my grief counselor.

Thanks for the update! I love love reading your blog.
