I actually CALLED Alabama Chanin just now to ask for their help and to see if they thought Denim and Blueberry would go together (I'm SO needy, but dangit, they're the experts!), and the girl very nicely put me on hold for a few minutes then came back and said they didn't have that combination in an actual garment on the website for me to see, but she asked some ladies "on the production line," and they said it would combine very nicely - both have a purple tone. WHAT?! The production line ladies think I made a good choice - I can die happy now! This is like a major life moment for me. (I know - I don't get out much, huh?!) So here's what that looks like:
But then, while I was on hold, I thought about Storm Blue with Blueberry - what do you think?
It would be a darker dress I think...ooh, and which color would you put on top? And what color paint would you stencil with? So many decisions, and my cart is waiting! Okay, deep breaths, I'll calm down.
Let's look at the parking lot I was in yesterday. Someone left a Doberman Pinscher in a truck with the windows open. Now, supposedly, he's chained in there, but his paws were spread wide and his glare said, "Are you lookin' at me? Wait, are you lookin' at me?" (That was an homage to Taxi Driver, in case you were wondering.)
Now hurry up and vote so I can order my fabric!

I kind of like the two with more contrast, the storm and blueberry. Not sure though which I would do on top and which on bottom. I have no clue about what paint color to do. I did a little photoshop mockup and put it here:

I figure photoshop is cheaper and easier than plastic surgery!!
I like the first 2, whatever colors those are, and I like the first one best. What a terrific way to check it out, Becky!

And I got my nurses to look, and one said the first one and the other said the last one, because the first one may wash me out, being so pale....hmmmm.
I'm loving the last one. I'm just drawn to the dark color. Are you doing any beading in your stitches? That would probably take forever to do. If so, you might need to consider what shade of bead you could get.
Yes - beading, which could go on for years! No idea what color yet....but the fabric is ordered!!
Which fabric did you end up ordering?
I like the storm and blueberry -- I wonder if you should choose colors in the Mardi Gras range (which these are, I think) -- I'm really a big fan of mustard/gold and purple. . .but looking at Becky's awesome photoshop -- I love the last photo!

I got the storm and blueberry. I've got to look around for beads but I wanted swatches of fabric to decide on those, and I'm thinking my chocolate paint as long as I can see it well enough to stitch - don't too many big contrasts...
