Alabama Chanin Beaded Mardi Gras Dress - The Pictorial
The front.
The back.
Haven't quite finished beading and trimming the very bottom...
Swingy skirt...
with plenty of walkability.
And finally, an attempt at an AC-style photo. Didn't go barefooted, though.
Oh yeah, the fabulous photography didn't quite happen because the nice camera save the pics in a file we couldn't open, so these are with my iPhone - bleh. At least they're in focus - the probability of getting a nice photo in the Superdome that's in focus is low...very low.

Mattie Bell would be so impressed with your sewing/beading talents!
Absolutely, positively STUNNING!!!! I love it!
Robbie
Beautiful dress. I'll be in the quarter Friday at the Iris luncheon and then on to the Elvi. If I see you in the see of people I'll say hi!
Make that sea of people!
WOW! That was worth the wait -- what a wonderful job you did with the beading -- what style! I love it and I think it looks lovely on you--especially the fit!
Junior - I can only aspire to Mattie Bell's greatness as a seamstress.
Robbie - thank you! (I already cut out another T-shirt to wear to Pure Barre while having insomnia the other night...)
Eileen - What will you be wearing? I'll look for you! I'll be somewhere between Lafitte's (dancing) and Mama's (eating a burger) Friday afternoon and evening...
Pam - thank you - it was worth 3 months' of trouble!
Your dress is perfect!! I am totally impressed!
Thanks, Becky.
I'll have on Iris head boppers. I'm not sure what I'll be wearing ,ut if it is cold I'll have on a black coat.Big help I know. Maybe I can rig up some kind of scissor theme fascinator!
I hear Handel's Messiah chorus in my head! FANTASTIC! You look wonderful in it! I love the binding, length, everything! It is wonderful!
